LIFT PASSES, SKI SCHOOL (ESF), SKI EQUIPMENT

 

PRE-ARRANGEMENT AND PAYMENT

 

For a small admin charge we can pre book your ski lessons and ski passes. This means when you arrive  for your holiday everything will be waiting for you at the chalet and you don’t have to wait in queues but can get  on with skiing!  We can also reserve your skis for you so they are waiting in the shop, this service is offered free of charge.  

 

Below  you will find a summary of prices and information you may need to help you decide what you want! If you don’t find what you are looking for please ask.

 

Some of the prices quoted may change before the season begins or during the season but in all cases we have quoted the maximum rate known at the time.  

 

LIFT PASSES

 

There is a wide range of options for lift passes; Les Contamines Hautluce, Evasion Mont Blanc, Mont Blanc Ski Pass, family passes, consecutive days, and “Liberté” non-consecutive days!  All the passes are hands free and at the end of the week if you hand back your pass at a “caisse” window you will receive a 3€ refund because they can use the pass again.  An adult pass is required for those who are 15 years old and above, a children’s pass is for 5-14 year olds.  Under 5’s go free but they do need a pass with a photograph to get through the barriers (costing 3 euros, refundable).  For more mature guests of 60 years or over there is about a 10% discount (vermeil) and if you are over 80 the lift pass is free!!

With the exception of the “Liberté” pass and those bought through the ESF, all passes for 3 days or more require a photograph.  

 

Les Contamines/Hautluce

 

This is the resort pass, which gives access to 120km of pistes and 24 lifts.

 

We recommend this for beginners, intermediates and families with children in ski school.  

 

A 6-day pass for an adult is 151€ and for a child is 122€, the over 60’s go for 137€

 

Family Pass – Les Contamines/Hautluce/Evasion

 

A family pass is only valid for 6 consecutive days or more to families of 2 adults and 2 or more children younger than 15 years or 18 years.  They are about 10% cheaper overall.

 

Evasion Mont Blanc

 

This pass is valid in the village,  Megeve, St Gervais, St Nicholas de Veroce and Combloux.  It gives access to 420km of pistes and 109 lifts.  There are no direct skiing or mechanical links with the other resorts but all are within a 10-30 minute drive.  If you are keen to visit some different places during your stay in Les Contamines this is a useful pass but its value is very dependent upon the snow in the other resorts.  

 

A 6-day pass for an adult is 165€ and for a child is 136€, the over 60’s go for 152.50€

 

Mont Blanc Ski Pass

 

This gives access to 700 kms of pistes all 14 resorts in the Mont Blanc Region (Chamonix, Argentiere, Vallorcine, Les Houches, Servoz, Cordon/ Sallanches, Passy, Praz sur Arly, Megeve, Demi-Quartier, St Gervais, St Nicholas de Veroce, Combloux and, of course, Les Contamines).  It does not cover the lift to the glacier run, Les Grands Montets, at Argentière or the lift to the Vallée Blanche (supplement payable).  Again there are no links but all the resorts are within a 10-45 minute drive.  This is an expensive option unless you want to go somewhere different every day and have your own transport.

Non-Consecutive “Liberté” Passes

 

If you don’t want to ski every day, or if you want to share a ski pass with someone else who doesn’t want to ski every day then there is the “Liberté” pass, which offers non-consecutive days and is transferable between individuals.  No photograph is required for the “Liberté” pass.

Non-Skiers

 

For non-skiers who may wish to go up the mountain to enjoy the view, take a walk to a mountain restaurant or to meet the rest of their party, a single trip to the top station, Signal, costs 12.85€ return for and adult and 11.15 for children and the over 60’s.  There is also a 6-day pass for non-skiers to Signal for 59€ (photo required), the price of this pass is the same for everyone. There is also an Evasion non skiers pass at 57.50€ (photo required)

ECOLE DE SKI FRANCAIS (ESF)

 

We have been working with the ESF for a number of years and they are familiar with what our clients require and we know which instructors to recommend for private tuition.

 

We recommend that all ESF bookings are made in advance so that you can have everything ready and are able to reserve the right instructors.  I should warn you, however, that once booked there can be no refund made should you or your children decide not to continue with instruction for any reason other than accident, sometimes illness, or occasionally really bad weather, in agreement with the instructor.

 

Children’s rates apply from 4 to 12 years inclusive. (for the under 4’s there is the Club Piou Piou)

 

Ski School. – All prices for 6 days in euros – Sunday to Friday, you can start on Monday but not any later.

Private Lessons.  Private tuition (in the middle of the day) costs 37.00€ per hour for 1 or 2 people, 52.00€ for 3 or 4 people, and 58.00€ for 5 or 6 people. The rates are the same for adults and children.

15/03/08-18/04/08 – any time after 13.00

FOR NEW YEAR AND FEB HALF TERM BOOK, BEFORE THE SEASON TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.

When booking private lessons you can request instructors, it is not a guaranteed thing but the further in advance you book the more likely you are to get them. If you would like to know more about this please contact us.

Booking – you can book ski school online, for private lessons the best way is to fax the ski school

If you give them an address they can then send your tickets to you (as long as there is time) so you don’t have to queue when you arrive to pick them up!

EQUIPMENT HIRE

 

We use Intersport they have two shops, one in the village centre and a shop in Hameau du Lay (2 minutes walk from the ski lift), great if you have problems during the day. We believe they offer the best service in the village.  Whether you want to hire equipment or to buy something, nothing is too difficult.  If you want to change anything you hire for whatever reason, to try different boots or skis, to change to blades or a snowboard, then that’s fine too.  There is a 10% discount for all our clients.

 

Intersport offers three levels of skis with boots to match depending on your level of skiing plus adult and junior boards.  Prices quoted are for skis, poles and boots, or boards and boots.  All skis are modern carvers and in good condition.

Helmets are also available for hire for youngsters and are recommended – some insurance policies will not  insure children who don’t wear helmets - 15€. If adults want helmets it may be possible to hire them please ask first.
