Flying
The closest airport is Geneva (I hour 15 mins), although you can also use Grenoble/Chambery (2 hours)or Lyon (3/3.5 hours)

Car hire
All the big names operate out of Geneva, as half the airport is in France and the other half in Switzerland you can hire both French and Swiss cars. However getting in and out of the French side is a pain and if possible avoid it. If you can’t you will find directions here to get you out of the airport and back in again! Remember to order and check that you have snow chains and a ski rack, it is illegal to drive in this area without snow chains in the winter

When you leave the motorway at junction 21 you will pass an Intermarche supermarket
if you want to stock up before heading up the mountain. The shops in the village
all open at 8am and close at 7-
